Lacryma Christi, (also Lachryma Christi of Vesuvius, literally "tears of Christ"), is the name of a celebrated Neapolitan type of wine produced on the slopes of Mount Vesuvius . It is also, as archaeologists have discovered, the nearest equivalent to wine drunk by the Ancient Romans, having analysed microscopic residue left on the taps of the casks.

The town of Palinuro is part of the Cilento and Vallo di Diano National Park, famous for the caves along its coast. The name is derived from Palinurus, the helmsman of Aeneas, as recorded in the books of the Aeneid.

The Royal Palace (The Reggia ) is a former royal residence in city of Caserta  and the world's largest. It was constructed for the Bourbon kings of Naples the 18th century. In 1997, the palace was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site, described in its nomination as "the swan song" of the spectacular art of the Baroque.

Modern day Paestum was in ancient times known as Poseidonia.
Notable  are the three ancient Greek temples which are in a very good state of preservation.
It is assumed that Poseidonia harbored refugees from its mother city Sybaris (Calabria) when that city was conquered by Croton in 510 BC.

On a solitary rocky spur, rising from the white gravel  of the river bed , lies the ancient abandoned town of Roghudi. Left behind is the Dragon's Rock, still enigmatic and mysterious, one of the few links with our past..

Pentedattilo is considered today one of Calabria's most picturesque and characteristic town. Another empty village where time and life stopped decades ago. For the visitor its a step in another world, offering   unique and extremely suggestive views...

The sanctuary of the Lady of the Mountain, one of Calabria's important religious meets. The whole event is accompanied by wild performances of the tarantella dance. It is a duel between the sacred and profane, it is a beautiful madness...
