The Beach of Conigli di Lampedusa in the province of Agrigento, Sicily, dominates the list of the best beaches in the world according to the annual Travelers' Choice Beaches Awards, an award organized by TripAdvisor which elects the most beautiful beaches around the world.
Last year, in the first place there was another Sicilian beach, San Vito Lo Capo ( Trapani province).
Among the top ten which are mostly Caribbean beaches we also find Rhossili Bay in Wales.
1 - Spiaggia dei Conigli Lampedusa (Lampedusa along with the other 2 Sicilian islands of Linosa an Lampione is part of the Pelagie Islands (Isole Pelagie from the Greek pélagos, meaning "open sea"). The islands are located between Sicily, Tunisia and Malta.

Also listed in the award selection are ten of Italy's most beautiful beaches, aside from the Sicilian beach of Lampedusa, most of the selected beaches are located in Southern Italy, Sardinia tops the list with four beaches.
